TVET courses not affected, promises principal | News Article

The principal of the Northern Cape TVET college, Brian Madalane, on Monday promised students at the Phatsimang, Moremogolo and city campus that courses that would have been discontinued next year, would not be affected.

He made an undertaking that full-time, part-time, correspondence, exam only, repeaters as well as supplementary exams would continue and apologised for any "misunderstanding".

He explained that there were concerns that students were not being given textbooks for correspondence courses.

Students set a table outside the city campus alight and locked the gates preventing access to the premises.

They are demanding that a written retraction and apology be made before the shutdown is called off.

Today is also the deadline for registrations.
