Free State Premier Ace Magashule’s term came under fire during a sitting of the Provincial Legislature as he only has days left before he vacates his post.

Magashule is going to take up his full-time position as Secretary-General of the ANC at Luthuli House at the end of this month. But, today DA MPL David van Vuuren said the province has been looted under Magashule’s leadership and several major scandals involving millions of rands have been making headlines over the years.

OFM News' Katleho Morapela reports from the Provincial Legislature that sparks were flying as Van Vuuren listed these allegations.

Van Vuuren said whether it was property deals for companies to which he has links or deals for his daughter, there was a deliberate theft of almost R220 million through a racketeering ring disguised as an empowerment project at the Vrede Dairy Project.

Added to this is the Ramkraal saga during which R120 million was paid without any construction work being done. He said the website scandal saw cash-strapped municipalities and departments forking out R140 million for a website that is still not functional.

The multi-million contract of the same company – Letlaka Media – with government departments were also declared illegal and unlawful.
