NC Education MEC to visit 25 underperforming schools─── NOMAQHAWE MTEBELE 13:05 Wed, 17 Jan 2018
The Northern Cape Department of Education will be visiting 25 underperforming schools in the province this year.
This comes after the MEC, Martha Bartlett, and other departmental employees visited various schools to determine their state of readiness today. Bartlett visited Newton Primary School, Northern Cape High School and Roodepan Primary School as they reopened. Schools in John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality will also be visited on Thursday. According to Bartlett, the main purpose of the visits is to promote quality education.
“We do have a year planner, we do have plans in place because we expect the teachers to teach and the learners to learn,” said Bartlett. The department wants the results of this year to not only be better than those of last year but also compared to the ones before, according to Bartlett.
