Vigilante case postponed in Parys─── DANE BEISHEIM 15:26 Tue, 23 May 2017
Parys - The state and defence agreed this afternoon to postpone a matter related to one of the men in the Parys vigilante justice case until tomorrow 9:00 in the Local Magistrate’s Court.
A charge was brought by the state against Anton Loggenberg in terms of section 66 of the Criminal Procedure’s Act. This relates to a failure from the accused’s side to observe their bail terms. Magistrate Gustav Prinsloo earlier chose to recuse himself from the matter as the defendant is known to him. OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that another magistrate will be brought in tomorrow to hear the charge.
The High Court case against the men will only continue once the matter related to Anton Loggenberg’s bail conditions has been finalised.
Boeta van der Westhuizen, his son Loedie, Miela Jansen van Vuuren, Anton Loggenberg and his son Cor, as well as Henk Prinsloo of the SAPS are all charged with murdering Samuel Tjixa en Simon Jubeba in January 2016.
