No arrests after copper cable theft at Theunissen─── MARK STEENBOK 16:23 Mon, 20 Mar 2017
Theunissen - The two suspects who allegedly tied up three employees from the Masilonyana Local Municipality in Theunissen and fled the scene with copper cable worth thousands of rands are still at large.
Police spokesperson, Malebo Khosana, earlier said the employees were on duty at the Vet River Waterworks last Wednesday at about 17:30 when the two armed suspects, covered with balaclavas, entered the building.
He says they were armed with a knife and pistol. Khosana says they then tied the victims up with nylon rope and took their cellphones and 20 metres of copper cable valued at R30 000.
The suspects later fled with an unknown vehicle. An investigation into the matter continues.
