FS Education due to pay salaries at Bartimea─── 15:31 Mon, 12 Dec 2016
Thaba Nchu - The Free State Department of Education is due to remunerate 36 staff members at the Bartimea School for the Deaf and Blind in Thaba Nchu, east of Bloemfontein soon.
This comes after several teachers and care workers at the school had lodged complaints about a two months’ salary backlog. Provincial spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the unpaid staff will soon be paid and the department is investigating the matter.
"We are working on ensuring that they are paid. They are eligible to be paid by the department. What could have caused the delay is that the department still has to allocate funds for the school," Ndaba says.
Ndaba told OFM News the school will receive funds before the end of next week.
