International Relations and Cooperation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu says the search and rescue operation for the four South Africans who were reported missing in Mozambique this week continues and she hopes they are still alive.
The group went missing while on holiday in Mozambique. They arrived in Mozambique on last weekend and were reported missing on Monday. Media reports indicated that the four are “presumed to have drowned”. Sisulu’s department said are - through the South African High Commission in Maputo - working with local authorities to provide assistance to families who have arrived in Mozambique to help with the search for their loved ones. South Africa's High Commissioner to Mozambique, H.E Mandisi Mphahlwa and staff at the Mission is assisting the families.
