South Africa’s Branden Grace and Richard Sterne will be leading the charge for the rainbow nation at the 2017 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland that will be taking place from Thursday.
Sterne will be hoping to go one better than last year when he broke 70 in all 4 rounds to finish in a tie for second at St Andrews while Grace will be hoping for a repeat of 2012 when he claimed victory.
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship may be played in Scotland and is part of the European Tour, but it always has a strong South African entry evident by the lineup of South Africans set to battle it out.
The group of 18 South Africans in this year’s line-up includes Ernie Els, Richard Sterne, George Coetzee, Thomas Aiken and talented young Brandon Stone, Haydn Porteous, Dylan Frittelli, Bloemfontein's Dean Burmester and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
The tournament runs from Thursday to Sunday with each player playing one round each on the three courses before a 54-hole cut is made and the final round is played at St Andrews.
