Record Number of Entries for Miss SA!

Miss South Africa 2019 is exactly two months away and after a number of delays this year, the show is back on the road after Miss SA announced LFP as their headline sponsor and this year's edition has already received over 1200 entries in just a few weeks!

South African actress Christine Basson has died.

The former Egoli actress was living at a retirement village in Randburg at the time of her death and she had recently turned 78.

According to the statement, M-Net was "saddened to hear about the passing of one of the most talented and beloved actresses the country has ever seen."

Afrikaans singer Jacques de Coning dies in head-on collision

Afrikaans singer Jacques de Coning reportedly died in a head on collision on Sunday morning in the Eastern Cape.

According to a statement shared on the J2sMarketing Facebook page, De Coning was travelling alone in the vehicle when the accident occurred at approximately 10:30am between Alexandria and Bushmans River. 

No information has been released on the status of the other vehicle.

Wellington schoolteacher crowned new Mr SA

A Wellington primary school teacher by the name of Heinrich Gabler has claimed the coveted Mr South Africa 2019 title at a glamorous ceremony which was held at the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay this past weekend.

Heinrich was a top 14 finalist in the 2017 edition, and decided to give this year’s competition a shot, beating out first prince Shaun Stander and second prince Bhekuzinde Nobunga for the win.
