With the Proteas in Pretoria to finalise their World Cup preparation, Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada are expected to make full recovery ahead of the World Cup opener.

The Proteas will play in the Cricket World Cup opener against host nation, England, on the 30th of May. Going into the week long camp, the Proteas have had injury concerns over their fast bowlers, who had all picked up niggles, some worse than others. Anrich Nortje has been withdrawn from the squad and replaced by all-rounder, Chris Morris.

Other concern was over Dale Steyn (shoulder) and Kagiso Rabada (back), and whether or not they would fully recover ahead of the tournament. With that being said, Proteas coach, Ottis Gibson, has come out and said that the team are expecting their two front-line seamers to make a full recovery.

"But we feel like those guys (Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada) are on track. There's nothing that people should be alarmed about, we feel like they're going to both make full recoveries and take their place at the World Cup."

The team will face England in the opener of the event at The Oval in Kensington on May the 30th.

Proteas squad - Faf du Plessis (captain), Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir, Rassie van der Dussen.
