5th ODI to create momentum for T20I─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:14 Fri, 10 Aug 2018
As the One Day International series against Sri Lanka draws to a close, the Proteas are hoping to use Sunday's final ODI to build momentum going into next week's stand alone T20 International.
After winning 3 ODI's in a row, the Proteas stride was slightly broken on Wednesday when a rain affected 4th ODI saw the home side claim a 3 run victory on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
On Sunday the Proteas will be hoping for a positive result in order to regain the winning momentum lost with their recent defeat in Pallekele.
With the ODI series already in the bag for the visitors, Ottis Gibson included a number of young inexperienced players for Wednesday's match in order to give them more game time.
With rainy conditions having shortened the match, Gibson is expected to give his young guns another chance to bring home the bacon.
Sunday's Day/Night ODI between the Proteas and the hosts Sri Lanka will start at 11:00 in Colombo.
