Plenty to play for in 6th ODI - Amla─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:23 Fri, 16 Feb 2018
Despite having already lost the One Day International series against India, the Proteas say they still have plenty to play for in today’s 6th and final ODI at SuperSport Park.
A dismal performance by the Proteas in the past 5 ODI's has seen the visiting Indian team claim their first ever series win on South African soil as they currently hold a unassailable 4-1 lead in the series.
While many have labeled today's game in Centurion as a so called dead rubber, the Proteas have made their intentions of giving it their all very clear.
Protea batsman Hashim Amla in his turn believes that despite having lost the series, ending the series on a positive note is important as is .
"Now that we are 4-1 down in the series the positive is that we want to end the series on a good note, you still want to have pride in your performance for your country."
"The coach has a long term vision and has a few ideas up his sleeve so that affords him the opportunity to play that", Amla added.
The final ODI against India gets underway at 13:00 on SuperSport Park and the home side will be eyeing a victory in order to carry some momentum into Sunday's first of 3 T20 Internationals which will be played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
