Mark Boucher, the coach of the newly crowned Ram Slam T20 Challenge Champions, the Titans, has heaped praise on his troops after claiming a 3rd consecutive Ram Slam T20 Challenge title.

The Titans clashed with the Dolphins at Supersport Park in Centurion this past weekend in what was expected to be a nail-biting final.

It was, however, not the case as the Dolphins, who were asked to bat first, were restricted to a measly 100 runs all out in 18.3 overs thanks to figures of 4 for 13 off 3.3 from Protea all-rounder Chris Morris.

Morris was supported nicely by Malusi Siboto who bagged 2 wickets for 10 runs while teammate and Lungi Ngidi gave 2 of the Dolphins batsmen their marching orders while conceding only 15 runs.

In the Titans turn with the willow, Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers played cameos of 39 and 27 respectively to lead their side to a third 20-over title in three years.

Former Protea and Titans coach, Mark Boucher, says the message was clear from the beginning.

He says, "they all understood from the start that we had a strong squad with a few guys coming back from injury as well, so they knew what to expect.

“The Titans’ team culture is quite strong and we put the team first, no matter what. We had a couple of hiccups along the way, we got a bit of abuse here and there after that, but we stuck together as a unit.

The Titans won eight out of 12 games played in the competition while out of the four games they did not win, two were washouts, while the other two saw Boucher make personnel changes to his playing squad in a bid to keep everyone happy.

The Titans, who are also local one-day champs, start their title defence this Friday when they host the Knights at SuperSport Park.
