Rain again beats the Dolphins in Durban | News Article
Kingsmead - Gallo

The Dolphins suffered a fourth time at the hands of the weather in Durban on Wednesday when their Ram Slam T20 Challenge encounter against the Highveld Lions was abandoned due to rain at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.

Heavy showers over the past 24 hours had left the outfield drenched and it was a matter of formality when umpires Bongani Jele and Thomas Mokorosi got together with the two captains at the scheduled 6pm start to confirm the decision.

It meant that none of the hosts’ matches in KwaZulu-Natal were completed this season, with their trip to the Multiply Titans earlier in the campaign also abandoned.

That made for five washouts out of eight games and left the Dolphins with 14 points, the same number as the Lions with two matches to come on Friday and Sunday.

Defending champions the Titans are the runaway leaders and have already secured a home semi-final, with all the other five sides still in contention.
