Less one dimensional, more flexible - Gibson─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:30 Wed, 18 Oct 2017
Shifting from one dimensional cricket to a more flexible style of play is high on the Proteas priority list according to the national coach, Ottis Gibson.
Gibson, who has enjoyed a 2-0 test series whitewash and a 10-wicket drubbing of Bangladesh since taking the coaching reins, says considering the depth and talent in the country, they need to play a more flexible brand of cricket.
"Developing that flexibility among the team is important and we want to practice that," Gibson said.
He added, "the cricket will get tougher going forward and we don't want to be a one-dimensional team, we want to be a team with options."
Will this be the case? Well, we will find out today when the Proteas and Bangladesh clash in that second ODI at Boland Park in Paarl from 10:00 this morning.
In the Protea's current cricket series against the Tigers they lead the ODI series 1-0.
