#Coronavirus: Criminals benefit from national lock-down─── 11:06 Sat, 04 Apr 2020
Four schools have been robbed and vandalised since Monday in the Vaal Triangle.
This brings the number of schools that were broken into this year to nine, including an education office vandalised.
During this break-in, equipment and groceries for schools' nutrition schemes were stolen.
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi, in a statement, called on community members to provide police with information, and further called on the police to act quickly to arrest the culprits.
Criminals stole electrical cables and several heaters in the classrooms, as well as computers in the administration block at Tsokodibane Primary School.
Members of the community are further requested not to purchase these stolen goods. No arrests have been made yet. The police investigation continues.
