Rustenburg holds workshop to empower local SMMEs─── 17:54 Tue, 19 Nov 2019
The Rustenburg municipality in North West has lined up series of workshops for small, medium and micro (SMMEs) entrepreneurs to share information and highlight opportunities related to enterprise development.
"The workshops intends on creating a platform for stakeholders and SMMEs to engage and share information and opportunities related to enterprise development. The Global Entrepreneurship Week [GEW] brings together industry experts, business advisers, business opportunities, technical support, networking, business support, and access to markets," the municipality said.
On Monday, there was a workshop on the automotive sector. On Tuesday, the workshop focused on new industries development and on Wednesday the discussions will be around co-operative development,
On Thursday the discussion focused on the construction and steel sector, on Friday and Saturday the discussion would be on SMME development.
As part of the global entrepreneurship week the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Nafcoc) in North West hosted a panel discussion on entrepreneurship in the knowledge economy.
The panel discussion was taking place at the Rustenburg Civic Centre on Tuesday.
The chamber would also discuss the state of entrepreneurship in the North West province as well as its position on corruption in municipalities amongst others.
