By-elections underway in Maluti A Phofung.─── 14:41 Wed, 28 Aug 2019
All 91 voting stations opened in time without any disturbance for today's by-elections in the Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality.
According to OFM News field correspondent Tumelo Khotha more than 100 ballot papers had been used before 9:00 this morning in ward 26, where most of voters were elderly people.
There is also reportedly a high police visibility. According to Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) spokesperson in the Free State, Itumeleng Liba, one of the independent candidates had an argument with a presiding officer at ward 15 over his lost certificate that shows that he's an independent candidate.
Meanwhile, some voters at Boikeketlong primary school in Qwaqwa in the Free State have complained about the noise accompanying the by-elections. This, after a high volume sound system was used during the process of voting.
