NW police launch manhunt for murder/house robbery suspects─── PULANE CHOANE 07:55 Tue, 15 Jan 2019
The police in the North West's Hartebeespoort Dam area have launched a manhunt for five African males who are believed to have been responsible for the killing of a 27-year-old female, Mayor Beza, who was shot during a house robbery over the weekend.
OFM News earlier reported that Beza was the fiancé to Richard Phiri, a 30-year-old man whose home was broken into on Saturday, at around 23h55.
Phiri survived following a gunshot to his lower body while Beza was shot twice in her upper body, including in the chest. She later died in the early hours of Sunday as a result of her injuries.
Police spokesperson in the province, Sam Tselenyane, said at this stage, it remains unknown whether or not any items from the house were stolen and this will remain part of ongoing police investigations.
The suspects face charges of murder, attempted murder and house robbery.
