Each year, 12 years of dedication and determination culminate with the release of the Grade 12 exam results.
On Friday, the 4th of January, Mid-Morning Magic comes to you live from the prestigious Matric Results Announcement ceremony at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein where MEC Tate Makgoe will be awarding the top performers and thanking the Class of 2018 for their hard work.
MEC Makgoe will give a breakdown of the provincial performance and acknowledge top performing learners, who will also be awarded bursaries to further their studies at tertiary level.
Schools that have obtained a 100 percent pass rate will also be acknowledged for their sterling scholastic performance.
“We wish to thank the grade 12 class of 2018 for upholding the principles of honesty and Integrity during examinations.
"We thank teachers, principals, parents, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), departmental officials and our social partners for the support they gave to grade 12 learners throughout the year," Makgoe said.
He expressed confidence that the province will obtain the 90 percent pass rate and 40 percent bachelor passes, as expected.
In 2018 about 30 000 candidates wrote the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams in more than 300 centres across the province.
Makgoe encourages learners to check their results from their schools and not depend on any other sources as these may be unreliable.
