Water supply cuts will affect the following areas: Rustenburg Local Municipality areas, Moses Kotane Local Municipality and Sun City, Thabazimbi Local Municipality, and Royal Bafokeng Administration.
Mins operating in the above-mentioned areas will also be affected. This is according to Mpho Mholo, Magalies Water media specialist, in a statement issued today.
Magalies Water (MW) notified consumers of the Vaalkop Water supply scheme about low pressures and possible water supply interruptions in some areas due to a high water demand on the system.
“Implementation of these water cuts is to avoid further depletion of our water storage facilities, which could lead to long periods of water shortages,” says Mholo.
It is uncertain how long the interruptions will last, however, Magalies Water is requesting that all consumers use water sparingly during this period in order to prevent prolonged water supply interruptions.
