South Africa's leading men's singles player, Lloyd Harris, has one the Gwangju Open in Korea on the ATP Challenger tour.
South Africa's leading men's singles player, Lloyd Harris, has won the Gwangju Open in Korea on the ATP Challenger tour.
Harris claimed the title on Sunday morning by beating China's Bu Yunchaokete in three sets in the final in Gwangju.
Harris advanced to the final on Saturday by beating Tung-lin Wu of Taiwan 6-4 and 6-4.
On Sunday dropped a set for the first time at the tournament, but he also served 16 aces.
Harris beat Yunchaokete 6-2, 3-6 and 6-4 for his first title of the year as he continues his preparations for the upcoming French Open at Roland Garros in Paris. This was also a first title for Harris since 2019.
A week prior, Harris, reached the quarter-finals of the Busan Open that was also played in Korea.
Harris is seeded fourth for the Shenzhen Luohu Challenger in China which gets underway on Monday. He will face Dane Sweeney of Australia in the first round.
